Thunder Moon, Hungry Ghost Moon

The full moon of July 2016 will occur on July 19, and be at its peak at 6:57 p.m. EDT (2257 GMT). July's full moon is known as the Full Buck Moon, as well as many other names like the Full Thunder Moon and Full Hay Moon. In Chinese lore, it is the Hungry Ghost Moon, while in South America - where it is currently winter - its names include the Wolf Moon, Ice Moon and Old Moon.
