Two Pots

A few years ago my elderly neighbor Terry Charpentier was selling her house and moving away. "Look what the plumber found in the bathroom above the dropped ceiling. He thought it was a soup pot," she said laughing. She handed me a blue wide-mouth enamel bowl that had a small handle. "I didn't have he heart to tell him it's a chamber pot," she said, giving it to me as a token of her departure. I love enamel. How did she know? I filled it with sliced up credit cards and have it prominently displayed on my bookshelf. Maybe I'll even eat soup out of it one day.

I realized I haven't had allergy sinus problems lately and I wondered if my frequent lap swimming may have something to do with it. "Swimming in the pool is like being inside a Neti Pot," I said to my husband. I've never tried using one but I understand how it works. I'd rather swim! Do you think if someone found a Neti pot in side a cupboard and didn't know what it was they would think it was a teapot?
