Two Heads are Better than One

I found two heads of cabbage in the fridge one red and one green. My 5 pounds remaining of my ten pound bag of potatoes had begun sprouting eyes. That's all I needed to get my vat-sized soup cauldron out. Last night I had saved the pasta kale water in glass jars in the fridge which proved to be a running start. So far so good! I always think of my Russian Ukranian Hungarian Jewish ancestors whenever I make bread, cabbage, potato, beet, lentil, kasha, and yogurt dishes.
