The Stockade Fences of Suburbia

My husband and I love to walk around with our dog visiting different neighborhoods. The fashion over the past few years is the solid vinyl wall as a fence. "The only thing missing is razor wire!"

I find it hard to believe families find this an improvement over the wooden picket fence. Even the chain link fence is more receptive than the 6 foot vinyl barricade.

I understand the desire for privacy, I get it, but does it have to be so hostile?
