Treasure

I just walked Romeo at 10 AM and everyone I ran into stopped for long chats that became visits. I didn't even get very far, just up to Turbesi Park.

Then on the way home I spotted a floor lamp next to a dumpster with 2 glass marbleized shades and a very heavy base. I decide to rescue it.

So here I am wearing my long dress and big straw hat walking with a dozen eggs from Francine, the 2 glass lampshades and the tall floor lamp, with Romeo on a leash, and we slowly trudged down Rathbun Street. I looked like Beverly Hillbillies meets The Grapes of Wrath.

A guy I know, retired Woonsocket cop from Edgewater Drive neighborhood who lives in the log cabin on the dead end,  pulled over and stopped with his wife and offered to drive the lamp to my house, "I know where you live," he said.

He put it in his trunk and then they drove off. I was surprised that they had waited for me to catch up. So sweet. "Everything in my house was found this way. My husband will laugh," I said, thanking him.

I was way down the street near the locksmith. I arrived home at 1PM. Bill lifted the lamp and said, "You were walking with this, you're crazy!"
