RIP James Arnold Sr.

I am shocked to see a local friend in the obituary today. RIP James Arnold Sr. I knew him as John. Was I wrong all there years? Was he too polite to correct me? I had many lively chats when he was the caretaker of Oak Hill Cemetery for Avery and Joan Cook. Back then I would walk my dog Honey up there and John would always find the stick I used to play fetch. He kept the place so tidy that he always found the one stick over 30 acres that I had stashed. John invited me to harvest all of the golden delicious apples at his other care taking job on Privledge and Rathbun Street apartment house. RIP John.

Obituary
WOONSOCKET - James E. Arnold, Sr., 61, of Woonsocket, passed away March 30, 2017 at home. Born in Westerly, he was the son of the late James W. and Mary (Briggs) Arnold.
He was a dedicated Yankees fan, an avid golfer, and family man. James enjoyed being a caretaker for his grandchildren for many years.
James is survived by a daughter, Lisa Lepine and her husband Justin, and a son, James Arnold, Jr. and his wife Nicole, all of Woonsocket; his girlfriend Lee-ann Defaut of Blackstone, MA; two brothers, Thomas and Henry Arnold of Westerly; a sister, Mary Latulippe of Winooski, Vermont; as well as his eight beloved grandchildren, Alexis, Khloe, Mia, James III, Oliver, Aubree, Bryson, and Lily. He was the brother of the late George Arnold.
His funeral service will be held Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 11AM in St. James Episcopal Church, 24 Hamlet Ave., Woonsocket. Calling hours are Wednesday from 5 - 7 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society , 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
