In each generation every individual is obliged to feel as though he or she personally came out of Egypt.... Therefore we are obliged to thank, praise, laud, glorify, and exalt, to honor, bless, extol, and adore Him who performed all these wonders for our ancestors and for us: He brought us out of slavery into freedom, out of sorrow into joy, out of mourning into a holiday, out of darkness into daylight, and out of bondage into redemption. Let us then sing before Him a new song: Halleluyah!
