I was trimming the shrubs when I saw my neighbor James. I asked him if he'd seen my other neighbor since the ambulance took him away. He's in the hospital, but will be coming home, thank you for asking, he said. His brother Henry can fill you in. And he did. My neighbor in the hospital had covid and kidney failure yet his brother Henry said he himself might not get a vaccine. Why not? I asked.

I spent the morning trying to convince him. Then I spent the afternoon trying to convince another friend to get the vaccine.

Thunder and lightning and rain had woken us up at 3AM. Now I need a nap.
