When I took out the trash bins I noticed the surveyor guys had sprayed yellow orange and blue lines on my street with arrows. I can only imagine the road is gonna get torn up soon and replaced with new pavement. It will be noisy but worth it.
Yesterday I saw Mike driving his Barbie mobile down East School St after visiting with his 2 brothers. 62 year old man 6 foot tall driving a Barbie mobile across town. Can't make this stuff up.
I smashed up a whole bulb of garlic and added a knob of ginger to my pressure cooker with a chicken this morning. Step one in the chicken soup process. The scent is glorious.
I love this weather. Cold dry sunny!
I felt gutsy enough to ask a young man to lower his stereo booming out of his gigantic Black Suburban in our shared driveway early this morning. It's much more powerful to ask when you are not angry. He apologized and I smiled and said no problem, thank you!
I pressure cooked the chicken for 40 minutes and then broiled it for 10 minutes and ate the skin. I had put Adobo and Bell's Poultry seasoning and lemon pepper and chili flakes, and earlier I added a whole smashed and peeled bulb of garlic cloves and 2 inch knob of ginger in with it. I included the neck and heart (gizzards). I shared the cooked wiggly bits with ROMEO (our dog).
I just roasted the bones for another soup stock. I pressure cooked a head of chopped celery 4 white onions and a pound of carrots chopped. I added this to the chicken and added a cup of aqua faba from Monday's cilantro hummus.
My chicken soup is cooling in the foyer because it's 30 degrees today so it's like a walk-in fridge. My sourdough rye bread dough climbed out of the 2 gallon bucket but I caught it in time. I spread it over two buckets and they are now in the fridge.
