"When someone bears their teeth it doesn't mean they have taken a bite," My husband said.
"I feel bitten by my mother and she HAS taken MANY bites! When my childhood friend Aaron was a boy he had nightmares of his mothers mouth. She was an alcoholic. His mind was flooded with images of her mouth and tall green wine bottles. I had nightmares about my mothers mouth too," I told him. "She always wears a plastic smile. I dreamed that I found her disembodied rubber smile on a plant in the jungle."

I woke up at 4:15 wide awake since that us the usual alarm time. I was dreaming about hounds tooth. After I fed the animals and made coffee and went running I forgot the details of the dream. I was enjoying running and seeing which windows were lit up at the high rise apartment buildings. I can always count on the smokers to be out. The Dunking Donuts parking lot was hoppin'.
Lily loves the new pattern of jogging on our walks rather than walking. It's very efficient especially in the winter.
On my way home I ran into my pal Gabe at the parking lot of Rite Aid. We talked about the impending storm and making apple pie, and our best friend Sylvia. And he told me his son was shot when he was 17, by some kids in New Bedford that his half brother was arguing with. He'd be 37 now, he said.
Today we're supposed to get a foot or sixteen inches of snow. All the schools are closed and warnings are already issued from Governor Baker and Gina in RI, along with parking (and barking?) bans. I might take another run in a few minutes out to Harris Pond before I am socked in for two days shoveling. I would love to have a baking and art day with my favorite kids.
