Eulogy

  

The last I knew,

 

He had a picture

Over his bed

Of Judith Jameson

In white leotard

And flowing skirt

Dancing Cry

For Alvin Ailey.

 

And went to see

Diana Ross

As Mahogany

In the theatre

Which almost no-one did

(Lady Sings the Blues, sure,

But not Mahogany).

 

And was dating

One of the token

African American

Junior models

They sporadically used

In Seventeen magazine.

So no,

I had no idea either.
