We Can't let the Dictator Dictate

As I said to my friend Carl when he came by to pick up a blob of sourdough, we have to focus on our friendships and neighbors and family and not let the MONSTER dictate how we see the world.

The people of Brazil are all cheerful and they have a monster dictator.

"My half-brother has been captured by ICE, he said and he's lived here for 27 years! They're planning to send him back to Laos.

Holy shit, Have him talk to Senator Jack Reed, Sheldon Whitehouse and Seth Magaziner. He's got a lawyer but it costs 20 thousand dollars to save him. Nobody in my family has that kind of money. Perhaps we can mobilize a fundraiser. I'd be willing to make a zillion sourdough pumpkin waffles, I said. We could make it a fundraising breakfast.

I love the famous quote by anthropologist
Margaret Mead is: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
