You Don't Read

I never saw my mother read but she said to me YOU DON'T READ!

 She took me to the  Therapy Dr. over it. I had to read aloud and I was given Rorschach tests.

But I did read! I read about Dolphins and Gerbils and she said THOSE AREN'T BOOKS! 

What she really meant was "Don't read!!" Don't leave me!!

Authoritarian parent. 

A liar!! She was a person who bent the truth to suit her needs but none of it is true. Who does that remind you of? The MONSTER in the White House!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's all a VISCERAL trigger for me. Broken promises, boundary violations, rape, humiliating sexual comments at gigantic holiday dinners, and more.
